The Secret

I’ve learned that the secret to consistent blogging is to blog about other people’s blogs. This way, you really don’t have to come up with much original material, you can just leech of other people’s originality. At most, all you need to do is write a short snippet explaining the link or a brief response to the post.

I don’t want to say that this is wrong, but it falsely creates the appearance of actually having content on your blog. I can think of several blogs that I appreciate very much who follow this approach. One in particular is well-noted and highly trafficked, but his blog showcases only the range of his reading, and seldom his originality. This idea is great to highlight some great content available on the web, but at the end of the day those bloggers whose content is original and insightful will have the most significant legacy.

A start

So, this is my other, secret (not really- just not publicized) blog. Often I have ideas of things to write which doesn’t fit on my other blog focused on more serious matters. So, this will pretty much be the dumping ground for whatever I really think doesn’t fit- or writings of about my so-called life.
